Dr. Jerrode Marsh is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra. Marsh will begin her fourth season as the fifth conductor of the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2024. In addition to leading the Sedalia Symphony, she is also the Director of Music at Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, where she oversees an award-winning music program and is the Executive Director of the Concordia Music Conservatory, a non-profit regional music center based in Concordia that serves to connect communities through music by offering high-quality private music lessons, summer music camps, community choirs and ensembles, music courses and seminars, and community concerts.
Marsh holds a B.M. in Piano Performance from Portland State University and a Master’s and Doctorate in Piano Performance from UT Austin. She moved to Concordia in the fall of 2015 from Frankfurt, Germany, where she worked for nearly two decades as a professional musician, performing extensively as a piano soloist and collaborative artist in Europe. It was in Europe that she discovered her love for conducting. While in Europe, she founded and served as Artistic Director and Conductor of the Trinity International Concert Choir; she worked as an auxiliary vocal coach and accompanist for the Frankfurt Opera and served as the Director of Music at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frankfurt, where she was organist and director of three church choirs and led a vibrant international church music program. While in graduate school, she also worked as a vocal coach and accompanist for the Austrian-American Mozart Academy summer music program in Salzburg. Since coming to Missouri, she has performed solo and chamber music recitals, performed with the Marshall Philharmonic, and led choral workshops and clinics. She is the organist at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg, and she has two grown children and one baby grandson.
