Dr. Clark Fobian is a veterinarian who enjoys music. Except for a three year “hiatus,” Dr. Fobian has served on the Symphony Board since 2004.
Clark enjoys his involvement with pets and music. Though at first glance, there is no apparent connection between the two, Clark states that both bring pleasure, joy and entertainment to those who experience the benefits of engaging in these activities.
Clark and his wife Rita have been married for 50 years this year. They are members of First United Methodist Church Sedalia. They have two grown married children and four grandchildren with whom to share their love of pets, music, and life.
Clark is currently serving as President and Chairman of the Sedalia Symphony Society Board of Directors.
Tonya Edwards has lived in Sedalia for 9 years. She grew up in Ohio and married her high school sweetheart in 2003. She has four wonderful kids who she homeschools. Her husband, Matt, is the pastor of Faith Baptist Church where she teaches kids classes, kids choir, and is the church pianist. She is active in the addictions ministry and discipleship classes at her church. She taught Kindergarten, choir, and piano lessons in a private school in South Florida for 12 years and now teaches piano lessons here in Sedalia. Tonya loves to bake and teaches cookie decorating classes in her free time. Her oldest child Drew plays violin in the Sedalia Symphony and the whole family loves to come to each performance.
Meg Liston joined the Sedalia Symphony Board of Directors in December 2021 and presently serves as the Symphony’s Treasurer. Meg brings to the symphony board a vast knowledge and experience in the administration and management of charitable, 501(c)(3) exempt organizations, including Sedalia Downtown Development, Inc., Sedalia Area Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Sedalia Trust, End of the Trails Monument Committee and the Mid-Missouri Humane Society. Meg serves as the administrator for Sedalia Downtown Development, Inc., a non-profit organization since 2003.
Meg is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, with a B.S. degree from CMU. She and her husband, Rob, enjoy a large family of 4 adult children, 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is an avid fly fisherman and loves gardening and other outdoor activities.
Meg appreciates the Sedalia Symphony Society’s long history of responsible financial management and will work to provide a clear understanding of the symphony’s finances and advance sound growth in its funds. She joins all board members in striving to grow and strengthen the extraordinary performing orchestra for years into the future.
Lori Broyles has been a member of the Sedalia Symphony Board for four years. She has lived in the Sedalia area since 1990 and taught elementary through college-level vocal and instrumental music. Lori teaches Aural Training and Piano Classes at State Fair Community College. She is heavily involved in the music ministry at First United Methodist Church as choir director and music coordinator. Lori is married to Sonny Broyles, and they have a beautiful daughter, Macy. She has enjoyed serving on the board as the music librarian, helping with the Messiah, and organizing scholarship auditions.
William Decker has been a member of the Sedalia Symphony Board of Directors since 2021. He has played bassoon and occasionally saxophone in the Sedalia Symphony since 2004, when he and his wife Cindy and their five children moved to Sedalia from Ohio. Cindy also plays with the symphony, initially on oboe and now on clarinet. He studied physics, music, and pre-med at Utah State University. He works as a radiation oncology physician at the Cancer Center at Bothwell Regional Health Center and other hospitals in the area. He stays very active in the community with music, church, medical, and volunteer activities.
Jerrode Marsh is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Sedalia Symphony. In addition to this, she is also the Executive Director of the Concordia Music Conservatory, a regional music school dedicated to bringing high-quality music lessons and community ensembles to the Central Missouri region, and the Director of Music at Saint Paul Lutheran High School. Trained initially as a concert pianist, she received performance degrees from Portland State University and The University of Texas at Austin, where her doctoral emphasis was on collaborative playing. She moved to Concordia in the fall of 2015 from Frankfurt, Germany, where she lived and worked for nearly twenty years as a professional musician, performing extensively as a piano soloist, collaborative artist, and conductor throughout Germany, Austria, and England, and as a Parish Music Director. While living in Europe, she collaborated with many international singers and instrumentalists and performed in special projects with the Frankfurt Opera and was actively involved in performing and organizing many benefit concerts. She has two grown children, Vanessa Rodewald (married to Seth) and Christoph, and one grandson. She enjoys baking and cooking, reading, writing and traveling. She also serves as organist at her home church, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg.
A former member of the U.S. Air Force Academy Band and Woodwind Quintet, Gary Moege from Warrensburg, MO, is originally from eastern Kansas. He received a both a bachelors and a masters degrees from Emporia State University; and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma. From 1981-2017, he was a professor of music at the University of Central Missouri, where he taught horn, classical guitar, and music history. He also performed in UCM faculty chamber music ensembles, including the Cambiano Trio, the Faculty Brass Quintet, and the Faculty Woodwind Quintet. Irish music and Jazz/pop are also part of his musical world, playing with the Blarney Pilgrims, as well as the After Hours Trio. As horn player and guitarist, he has collaborated with flutist Lorraine Miller to form Prairie Sky. In addition to currently serving as principal horn with the Sedalia Symphony; he has performed with the St. Joseph Symphony, the Springfield Symphony, the Southeast Kansas Symphony, and the Topeka Symphony.
Music has always been a major focus for Linda Pappert. Linda is a musical theatre director and performer in the central Missouri area. Most recently at Capital City Productions Dinner Theatre in Jefferson City, Scene One Theatre in Jefferson City, The Royal Theatre in Versailles, The Finke Theatre in California, and The Liberty Center Association for the Arts in Sedalia.
She is proud to be a member of the Sedalia Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Linda is excited about the orchestra’s talented conductor and musicians enriching the area with outstanding live concerts throughout the year. Season tickets are available now, and seeing the community continue to support the arts at the concerts is thrilling.
Robin Wyatte is new this year (2024) to the Sedalia Symphony Board of Directors. Robin spent many years teaching mathematics at several schools, including Smith-Cotton High School, SFCC, and UCM. Her last years in education were as Assistant Principal at Smith-Cotton High School. Some Sedalians may also remember Robin as the previous owner (for 20 years with her husband, Bill) of the Wheel Thing Skate Center.
Robin studied mathematics and vocal/piano at UCM. She and her husband, Bill, have three adult children and four grandchildren (so far). She spends her “retired” time accompanying at SFCC, gardening, helping in her church, attending her grandson’s activities, especially baseball games, and going on adventures with family.
